Please help....
Hello
I am new to this forum and very new to learning photography. Will someone please tell me why some of my photos do this? It is starting to happen quite often. I am using a Nikon D3400 with a new sd card. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Try and use another SD card and see if it does the same thing.?
Okay, I will try to pick one up tomorrow before my sons soccer tournament. Is there a specific one you recommend? I am currently using a SanDisk ultra plus v10 32mb. Thanks for reply...
Awesome and thanks for the info...hoping that will be it.:-)
By any chance were you using flash?

Looks like flash with the shutter speed set to fast, at night or in a darker environment you'd only get the upper half of the shot.
Yes, new card. It isn't writing all the data.
I believe it is the card. I wasn’t using the cameras flash. Getting ready to transfer pictures now. I will update later, thanks for the continued input.
I can't see how that could possibly be the SD card. If the card was failing, the missing data would be randomly located: Sometimes lighting, sometimes color, etc. --- AND almost always render the image unreadable.
Is the line between the light & dark always in the same spot? If so, I'd say it's a problem with the sensor.
