Love your work. Where did you find the lion that was that tame? The dog I can understand.

Beautiful, great composition, wonderful subject and I love titles. The last one "The Guardian", it's kind of hard to see the lettering, but maybe that's what you intended. Are you going to frame and hang or sell or both> Nice work and I see why it took you 3 months to put together.

The "Guardians" is an image that I have printed and sold a few times. I have taken it to 30x40, which is plum wonderful. None of the art prints have the graphic titles in the images, no traditional boarders, and printed "clean" either on Arches coldpress watercolor paper or on canvas. Thank you for your kind comments.

Here is a converted B&W, from a session put together over a 3 month period. Getting the model, doing the wardrobe, hair makeup, scouting the location and getting the animals. All images were handheld, with close to 200 images shot in under 20 minutes.

Comments and questions are always welcome. Next I will try to post one or two of the color images.

Amazing pics. I love the converted b and w. Great effect. How did you do that.

Thank you for your comments. As to how, regarding the first image, I did something a bit different on this. I copy shot some large mounted color prints with two different kinds of B&W film, using my medium format camera. Then I printed from the resulting copy negs., and this image is a scan of one of those negs. I used a Kodak B&W and Ilford B&W films, with slightly different results and feelings. This was an experiment that I discovered some years ago that results in some qualities in the resulting images that are otherwise un-matched.

Very nicely done. The whole series bespeaks of a by gone era. I feel the early 19th century. The snarl on the wolf's face in the last shot is a fitting climax. The light on the models is excellent (creates separation).

This really shows a creative eye and mind. You done good!

Larry

Larry,

Thank you for your comments. The snarl on the wolf's face was something that I did not see until I was processing my shots at a later time. While I have many wonderful shots from this session, this particular image certainly is "special".

Absolutely awe inspiring!!! The first one is classic and very artsy...however...the last shot is my favorite. Would love to own a framed copy to hang on my wall!

CW,

Thank you for your kind comments. PM me with your email address, and we can chat. I do all of my own framing, and can ship. . .depending on size.

The photographic work is awesome. I really liked every one of them.

I wish you had left the viewer to his own interpretation of the settings and the expressions by leaving out the words on the photos. The journalling makes your beautiful, artistic work a little schmaltzy. The words and the playing with fonts are distracting and totally unnecessary.

I'm sorry to add a negative note to your beautiful work.

Fergus,

No need to be sorry. For the most part, I agree with you; however, since images can be "plucked" off of this site the, as you say, "schmaltzy" graphics were done with purpose, for posting here only. While these are the titles that I have used for gallery prints of these images, my gallery prints are totally clean and are usually printed on Arches watercolor paper, or onto canvas. My original files for these images are very big; and, even reducing the images in sized for posting here in .jpeg. . .the files are still pretty good size. For this reason, I never check the "save original" box, but do like to upload a file that is large enough for the UHH members to get the true feel of the image. Your opinion is noted, respected, and rejected for the reasons above noted.

Incredible photos! Great looking model. Hope we see more photos of her.

Thank you for you kind comments. As for seeing more photos of my model, that is not very likely. Posting these images really is against one of my personal policies. . .of not posting images of my people subjects. I decided that the "teaching value" of these images, out weighed my rule of "post no people" images.

Yes, I have used this model for many other projects. Yes, I have full signed model releases. No, I don't like putting people images on the internet, regardless.

Now, that being said, go back to "The Guardians", where the wolf is snarling. . .and see if you can spot anything unique about this model. . .
