Ok I made this because i have a really bad back and my desk chair wouldn't allow me to sit in it for more then a hour or so at a time so i made this //// it swings out the way the desktop swivels to make the angle right for however I'm sitting.. so what do you think.. i have some ideas on the next one i make to improve on the design but as for now this one is working
with the desktop in place
with the desktop swung away so you can get up
from another angle showing the whole thing
This is a great idea.....

Necessity was the mother of invention. Looks great and it works, super!
Sweet! I wouldn't mind having something like that to put an extra monitor, mouse and digital board on for my lap top.
Great work!
Put the refrigerator within arms reach and I'd never have to get up, well almost never...
Beer IS rented afterall...

Yes, good setup, but for one more thing, a wireless track ball with Velcro on the bottom. AND move that cabinet by the door to the left (as viewed sitting) side of the chair. Also, those wires, ya gatta do something about the long wires. Move the desktop unit near the right side of the chair to use the cd etc. Well also one of the 1950s Bennie caps would add to the Captain Video image.
You need to be the subject of one of those TV redos shows where they come in and revamp you computer setup..,, or buy a Keg and invite us all over and we will move stuff around and put a wireless lan card in the desk top to get rid of the trip wires.
Serious side;;; at one time I had a desk with the monitor sunk at like 45 degrees so neck was relaxed. Had a friend with neck problems, no, not from an accident, rather from the monitor up on the shelf the computer table provided so he had to super flex his neck,,, OUCH. I told him to sit and relax with eyes closed, he did and next I asked what position is you head, slightly down,,, OH! OK! and he did some mods and the Computer Whiplash disappeared,,
ERGONOMICS,,, IS VERY IMPORTANT.

*chuckles* the wife won't go for this - if I spend much more than an hour at a stretch on pics or the Ugly, it gets ugly . . .. maybe if I fixed her up with a 7D?!?!?
I have the same problem, I make some 4X6 prints of the pics she likes and it will buy me some more time on the computer, I hope she never finds out how much money I spend on this STUFF as she calls it.
nice rig, but I have to ask why would you run windows on a Mac? Not ready to commit totally to the DARK side?

I know what you mean. My wife wouldn't like that either. :-D
good idea i got a laptop and have it sitting on one of those fan pads. Found this necessary after surgery to remove c6. table next to chair holds it when not in use. Wife also fusses about time spent crammed in the screen but i also attend school online and leave there pages up in other windows .

Some suggestions...
Maybe you can make a larger base with a power strip or outlet box in it? Also, run some of the wiring down the tube that supports the table.
Nice setup. Although I would think you would get a lot of glare on your monitor from that window.
Great idea----if you would like a short nap, you don't have to leave your chair!!!! Nice DIY
You can get these for chairs at the Relax The Back stores.
