Mushroom in woods
The fishing pole should have been to the left or right, not in center.

Actually, the fishing pole looks to be slightly off-centre to the left and I like it very much. Much better than placing the fishing pole exactly in the centre which would look odd.
Not sure about the second shot though. It doesn't look like a mushroom. The angle of the shot makes it look a wee bit like a red ball. I wonder if it might have been better to try and get down low and take the photo slightly side-on.
Thanks for input. Agree about the mushroom...should have got on the ground and taken the picture.
Thought the same thing after I saw picture. Thanks for sharing.
Randy, the fishing pole should have been off to one side. With pole as it is it appears that its two photos beside each other. Looking at the mushroom it is not readily apparent what it is. The color is fantastic but I think getting down to its level would have been more apparent as to what it is.
My .02 because you asked.
I appreciate your input!! Both suggestions are noted and will make changes on next pictures.

I'm going to wade in here and say that I would have taken the shot with the pole on the left looking at it from the side and not the back. I would have backed up and gotten the whole pole and some sky above. Like the subject and the color.

I agree with the asymmetric plot placement. Did you use a fill flash on the foreground?
Also, did you catch any fish?
I did not use any fill flash and did not fish. Someone was fishing so I used his pole in the picture. Probably should have fished but was having too much fun taking pictures.
