The Thunderbirds and Canadian Snow Birds will be at Alliance Fort Worth Sat/Sun. Been watching them practice from my front yard.

Great shots. The 2nd shot is tack sharp. Love it. I've had the opportunity to shot a few Air Shows and really enjoyed it. The Thunderbirds were in Baltimore for "Fleet Week" (Oct 6-7). I was able to get some great shots as well from a friend of mines roof top deck just a few blocks from Ft. Henry. What gear do you use? Keep shooting. Great work.

I was there last year for Blue Angels with grandkids to see Blue Angels. Neat thing about that was the Angels took off and landed at the airport right in front of you. A whole “ceremony” of getting into jets and proceeding to runway where the first 4 take off with one of the jets immediately dropping into slot position. Very cool.

I used the Canon 100-400 ii with a 1.4 ext. I shot at around 1/3200 sec. at f8-f11 with auto ISO I believe. Probably faster than what I needed because some came out a little noisier than I would like. Great thing about Chicago is that by the time the T-Birds perform the sun is behind me. Any other show I have been to ( including Alliance show mentioned above) you tend to be looking more into the sun. I was lucky enough on 2 of the days to shoot from on the roof of 35 story condo building. I could shoot at higher speed and still get reasonable ISO settings.
I forgot to mention Canon 7D Mark ii.
