just traded in a vw diesel I bought 16 years ago and 346000 miles, what a car, 50 mpg over its life. Purchased a new golf wagon, disappointed that

I could not purchase another diesel vw. The new gas model is getting better than 38 mpg and is a great ride

I wish that my F 250 could get half of that 50mpg but then you can't tow a 30' fifth wheel with a Jetta. ;)

President Trump's administration is presently changing very many of the EPA rule & regulations that created this mess, so one day soon, all these cars may be on the road again in the USA and other countries too.

Wonder if the oil companies have anything to do with this, behind the scenes, 50mpg is not good if your selling fuel.

I met a man 40 years ago that was on his 5th 'non oil based' engine fuel copyright. As he stated then....it only has to prove 'it can work' and he gets paid a lot of cash to sell the rights to the oil industry. I often wonder how many times he got away with it!

The only ones good mileage helps are the owners. Bad air hurts everyone.
