First two shots are with a Nikon 85mm 1.8 I just purchased used and I am getting use to it. A little slow to focus but other than that I think it will work.

Hi Jules,

Awe the 85mm, that is great.

Photos are awesome, I down loaded to have a better view, very vey nice.

My left eye Retina still has some swelling which is impacting My eye sight.
Plus our Local School Board has come up with a very "Knee Jerk Bright Light Security System" i.e No Camera Bags permitted. Home Games I am known, Principal, Staff, Coach's look out for me to get in with Camera Gear.

Away games the Gate Security refuses to even let one open Camera Bag to be inspected. Yet, a soccer chair in a bag is permitted without inspection. No water, Mosquito/Bug Spray allowed passed gates.

Totally nuts, here in Our West Florida Sauna/Bug infested paradise all in the name of so Called School Security...Oh women no wallets. Everyone has to have clear purses, etc., and they are searched...duh.

It is hampering Photographers, and Fans to come to games.

Excuse My ramblings, Thanks for sharing Your Awesome Photos.

Be well, Be Blessed.

Hi Pops: My o my what a bad deal with security. My wife is talking to our daughter and just said when they go the USC games clear purses too. What a bear.
Sorry to hear about your eye. It will get better I am sure.
Going out now to shoot a freshman and jv football game around the corner, about one mile from the house. I do like that.
Be Well and take care of yourself.

Hey Jules, nice shots as always. After seeing your shots with the 85MM I think I will try my 85 at some indoor events. Was going to a gymnastics meet last night didn't make it though. Have you ever done any gymnastics? Almost time to move inside anyway. Shoot tight!!

The last one is perfection! Glad to see you are catching some with the 85. I shoot it at 1/800 for volleyball too
but at f2, auto iso, and my focus seems great. Seems I can use single point or 9 point and rarely have any
focus misses, but I use single for the most part when shooting tight, 9 when farther away so I'm not
shooting the gap between players. Great job.

Hi 67skylark27:
The last shot was with a 70-200 2.8 vr. not the 85. The first two only. Wed. I am shooting a couple of volleyball game. I plan on using the 85 for some action but I think it might focus to slow, we will see. I also plan on using the D4 and not the 500 for lower iso clarity. What equip. are you using, I'm sure you told me before but forgot.
I used the d4 for a whole football game and like the sharpness, color, etc. Not the reach with the 500 but I will have the action come to me more often.
Have a good day,
Jules

Hi 67skylark27: br The last shot was with a 70-200... (show quote)

I use the D7200 with a grip, I like the vertical controls on it. Back button focus, it seems instant for me. I do follow one player at a time which may
help the focus stay dead on. I'm looking forward to some hockey on Friday night, my daughters team won their regional playoff in volleyball
on Saturday so I'm watching now and not shooting so I can take it all in. They went to the 5th game tiebreaker and won 19-17, a real thriller!
