My wife and I just returned from an 18 day, 6 countries vacation in Europe. One of our favorite stops was St Moritz, Switzerland. We took a day trip to Torino, Italy and back on the Bernina Express (2 hours each way). To say it was a spectacular train ride would be an understatement. We have all taking photos and said, "Photos can't do this scenery justice". Very true here but I hope these images give you an idea of how beautiful the countryside was that day. These were all taken from a moving train trying and to keep composition. Nikon D850, 28-300 3.5-5.6. I had to keep the shutter up over 1/640 to try to stay sharp. Trying to narrow the photos down to 8 images was difficult but here they are. As always, love to hear back from fellow photographers.

So beautiful - an understatement. I had an opportunity to visit Switzerland once but it was in March and, though I was happy to go, March is March. I hope to go another time when grass is green. The Bernina train looks wonderful. We visited the Bernina sewing machine factory in Steckborn - the machines have red accents. Now I see why.
Thanks for sharing.

It was a perfect time of year and very lush. Weather was perfect as well. Would go back tomorrow. Thanks for checking it out.

Your images are superb!

It is almost impossible to describe Switzerland to anyone who has never been. The majestic alps; the smell of the alpine air; the wild flowers in the alpine meadows; the lush green (almost manicured looking) countryside; the cleanliness and orderliness of everything; the taste of real rich natural butter and chocolate; the Cows....Oh, yes...Swiss Cows are very different! I need to stop now....

Anyone who travels to Europe, might seriously want to consider a stop in Switzerland.

Sorry, no. Turin is farther west of Milan. Our train was from St Moritz, Switzerland to Tirano, Italy. Just a two hour ride each way. We wish we had more than 2 days there. Such beauty! Glad you liked the images!

Our only regret was we didn't leave enough time for this stop. We will definitely return. A beautiful part of the world for sure. Cows!!! Oh yes, here's one I didn't include. Swiss cows along a creek! Glad you liked the revisit and the images.

Excellent set! Especially impressive under the conditions (train movement).

Thanks Mike, Yes train movement was an issue but with a higher shutter speed it certainly helped. With this kind of landscape it was difficult to take a bad photo.
