The first 6 flags at Arlington, Texas

Here are a few shots taken with a Nikon F1 in 1962. This was a very boring place by today's standards, yet the folks seem to have had a good time there. Take note of the last image with the three sailors: Kinda like the movie "On The Town", just without any chance of getting lucky. All were taking on Kodachrome film and copied with my home made rig.

I was there at LTV event day before grand opening. There was a donkey trail ride and actually six areas from the six nations that had flown flags over Texas.
Opening day admission was $5.50 and there was little else to spend money on other than food once you passed the gate. No one paid for the privilege of breaking in line, either. Them thar was the good ol days! Thanks for posting.

I worked at Six Flags Georgia in the 70’s. Thanks for the memories!

Yes, it was lots of fun for my family. We went twice each year for a long time. I too worked at LTV.

My son worked there for a short period. He got tired of burning his hands making waffle cones and quit: Quickly, I might add.
