Thanks

I have the Tamron 10-24mm zoom on my Nikon D7100. It's a pretty good lens but tends to fisheye at the 10-11mm area.... keep in mind that on the D7100/D7200, the camera is a DX and your field of view on that lens would be similar to a Full Frame using a 15-36mm lens.. I have wished that I had spent the extra and gotten the Nikkor 10-20mm FX lens... same speed (f/3.5-4.5) as it doesn't fisheye as much at the wide setting and it is an FX lens meaning that I can use it (without the DX conversion) on my D610. But, the Tamron has been a good lens. I use it for sunsets, landscapes etc. and it has decent images with decent color. NOTE: All of my lenses have either a 77mm filter diameter or I have a filter ring adapter makeing them 77mm... this allows me to carry one size of lens cap for everything and one size of filter... so I don't need to carry a bunch of different caps and filters for each diameter lens. It greatly simplifies the list of accessories that I have to carry with me and expecially working and changing filters and lenses in the dark.

I have an older NikonD5100 and my standard lens is Nikon 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 GR very happy with it and I on a lark purchased an NEEWER 0.45 Hi Def Wide angle lens. Super lens additive for my likings anyhow but the price was less than $50.. Cant beat that with a switch...and it serves me well. Only thing now is to rethink photography, for I am one unlearned dummie...

I have the Sigma 10-20 F3.5 for my D7000. It's a great lens for a DX.

I like the the Tokina 12-28mm f4 for the wide range, reasonable f-stop, and build quality.

It all depends on how much wide angle you need. A 24mm lens will give you the equivalent of a 35mm focal length in the so called full frame camera. If you are using the 18-55 the wide angle side of that lens would be the equivalent of a 28mm lens and that for many photographers is enough for a wide angle.
Nikon and other manufacturers make excellent wide angle zooms, I use the 12-24 f4 AF-S even with my "full frame" camera with excellent results.

I've come to tolerate the alternate spelling "lense" for "lens", but "len", give me a break!

I have a Tokina 11-16 mm f2.8 DX and love it. I was so surprised at the results I tell everyone about it. Tokina is made in Japan and very high quality for under $400.00.

I think the following link will give you some information about how to order the Nikon 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 STM lens

Nikon 16-80mm and Tamron 10-24mm both are super lenses.

If I am serious about image quality, I will use the 16mm f2 Samyang manual focus for a single exposure solution or a 24mm f2 Vivitar used vertically for a multiexposure pano.

Assuming you already have one of the 'kit' lenses (18-55mm, 18-xxx mm, etc), I'd guess you're looking for something wider? While not the sexiest of possible offerings from either Nikon or various of the 3rd party makers, I can and will suggest Nikon's AF-P 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR. Largely plastic, but quite light and very sharp. The attached was shot at 10mm (15mm 'equivalent' if you were using a FF body, which you're not), and if you could see the full size, unreduced image you might agree that for the price, it is rather more than 'nice.'

<edit: additional note: I already have an (FX) AF Nikkor 20mm lens, and I use it a lot --on my D610. I've likewise used it on my (DX) D7200, but for my purposes, as good as the lens is, it simply isn't wide enough for what I do/shoot. It's 'equivalent' is that of using a 30mm lens on DX, and that isn't 'wide angle' enough for my tastes.>
Assuming you already have one of the 'kit' lenses ... (show quote)

I would very much agree with this assessment. The 20mm isn’t wide enough, it shines in low light though. I have the Sugma 17-35/1.8 and it’s a great lens, but still not all that wide. For wide angle, I prefer my Tokina 11-16/2.8

Beautiful picture by the way

Nikon's AF-P 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR. Inexpensive lens, but does its job consistently.
