I went to Home Depot and bought a cord set and a socket and an old fashion looking LED bulb. I removed the mirror of the camera, and drilled a hole in the back for the cord. I wired the socket and threaded it through the drilled hole. Got a corner shelf to mount it on and a cover for the cord so it doesn't show. Bought a smart switch and programed it to my Alexa. Just made up the plans as I went.

I love it!!!

This is the first time I have included a photo sorry if it is wrong.

Nice one. I've seen others use a shoot through umbrella in front of a household lamp. That looked neat.

I've always wanted to modify an old slave flash to fit inside a broken Pentax camera and lens combo but after 12 years, nothing has gone bad.

Maybe I should be using Canon cameras?

*(That was a joke people.)

Very ingenious idea. Nice way to reuse something and make something useful and very cool. As just about everyone else says, that strap could be a liability hanging down in the way. otherwise, nice job.

Cool!!! But it would look really cute with a small white flash reflecting umbrella as a shade! (It seems to glare a little.)
