You must have made a big crop, if you were using a 300mm lens. Here is one taken on the 31st with the 2000mm Nikon P900. Moon rising.
Regards, Alfie.

Regis, you got far better image than what I got using a Nikon D750, a Tamron 150-600 set to 600, f/6.3. 1/125sec. And I was using a large tripod and a cable release. Still no where as good as yours. Then again you are using far better gear than I am.

300mm times 2x extender = 600mm.

Thank you very much, Alfie.

The Canon 300 2.8 II is an extremely sharp prime lens plus combining with my 50MP camera = extremely sharp moon shot.

Thank you very much, FiddleMaker.

Well .........your prime lens and 2x extender is 4 times the $$ what I paid for my D750 and Tamron 150-600 combined. It certainly shows.

Unfortunately, good detailed photos come at a high cost. It's worth it for me, but many people will disagree with me. I'm 74, so it took me a long time before I
could afford the lenses and cameras.

Thank you very much, FiddleMaker.

Alfie , your P900 bridge camera shots are fantastic , Regis need only use a 300mm 2x extender and perfect ...yes after cropping , Regis produces a clearer photo of the moon than the rest of us with the equiv of 600mm ...the diff ...a extremely sharp 2.8 And a 50 megapixel Canon all $$$
