And we will all have $8,000 Full Frame point & shoot cameras...on our cellphones.

I don't know about the cell phone. I have not figured how to get the photos into the computer as yet. I have e-mailed one or two to myself but They have to be less than 24mpx because I cannot e-mail more than one pic from my computer without downsizing the file. To me that means the phone does not have as many pixels as it may claim to have. I took apart a broken phone once and the sensor is very very tiny.

Use an umbilical cord to connect your phone to your computer, transfer full size images. Works with My S-III.

The only one of those you mentioned that I have is the D850.

I have been shooting with a D500 for a while and picking up the D850 it was great to find it has what appears to be the exact same layout.
I bought the battery grip and except for a registration pin I think they would be interchangeable.

Just from reading posts on UHH for quite a while it seems the D750 is the most loved.

Good luck

So to move from dx to fx, in Nikon would you start at 620, 750, 810 or 850 (5 is totlly out of discussion).
I have an offer of a job but for some reason they do not want dx. It is portrait work. Please don't grill me on why fx instead of dx, I know for a lot of shots you can compensate, that is just their preference. I know there is $ in lens changes but there may be comp for that but not for the body. They actually will loan you lenses for a time.

D750 or D810. The D850 if you have the budget. Make sure they have an 50 or 85 mm available.

For portrait work, I see 850's used a lot. 750 is the most commonly used or talked about here. I would agree with those who suggest renting a camera. Probably the best way to figure out what you really need.

I would recommend a used D800. Like the D810 and D850, which have features you may not need or want to pay for, it is built like a tank and is a super all around professional camera. They have dropped in price considerably since I bought mine for about $3,200 new to the current used price of $1,000 to $1,300 for one in top condition at Adorama, B&H, etc.

Tried that. Does not seem to recognize the phone connection. Might be a problem using win 7 I think. Maybe I should try my win 10 computer.
Still phone pics are not as good as my D7200 when you need flash. I still don not know the resolution of cell phone. like I said the cell camera has such a tiny sensor.

Read the original post! This post has nothing to do with cell phone cameras. The question is about choosing an FX format camera for a job that requires an FX format camera. If you want to talk about cell phones, please start a new thread. Thank you.
