my manual says for exposure compensation turn the dial on the front of the camera. But on my camera I have to have the shutter button down 1/2 way to get that to work and it is very awkward to do that, is there another way to do this? Thanks for any help you can give. JC
On mine, I haven't had to re-assign anything. Make sure the lever at the back (Fn1) is in the raised position (1 not 2), and the front 'dial' alters exposure compensation without further ado - I certainly don't have to hold the shutter button down. (With Fn 1 in the lower, 2 position, the front 'dial' alters ISO). This is how the camera was set up when I bought it, and I see no reason to re-assign from that default. Hope that helps.
