Three with a borrowed 70-300, and four with an 80-400 I got last week. I will point out that those shot with the borrowed lens required more sharpening, and fussing with, whereas these with the new lens have almost no sharpening. I did recover some of the darker tones in the crow and cormorant.

#1, #3 and #4 very sharp on the eyes. The others are a little soft. The lighting (PP?) on the egret with the black background is very dramatic. The seagull is very sharp.

Do you mean 1,3 and 4 you think are too sharp? As I said, I applied almost no sharpening yet to the last four.
