Canon Pixma-100 plugins

I recently purchased a new Pixma Pro-100. Offered with the printer are several plugins including Print Studio Pro. I Use Lightroom and shoot in raw. I use an Apple computer for photo processing and printing. I would appreciate opinions on whether using the plugin is better/easier than printing from Lightroom. If you can offer how-to links, I would also appreciate that.

Thanks.

Peripheral manufacturers feel that have to give you value added software to make you feel better about your purchase. Learn the Lightroom print module, load profiles specific to the paper you are using. I also turn on Print Preview with the Pro-100 as a last minute check that the image is aligned correctly on the intended paper. Has saved me from ruining prints.

Thanks. Implicit in your answer is that there is little or no added value other than the final check you mention. Is there general agreement with that view in Hedgehog World?

Watch Jose Rodriguez videos on the pixma pro 100. The Print Studio Pro plug in is super easy and much better than I can do by myself - at least at this point.

I use the Print Studio Pro plugin for Lightroom and for Photoshop. It is by far the easiest way to print using icc profiles for Canon and 3rd party paper that there is. You will not have to worry about how Photoshop is set or LR is set before you print. The plugin takes total control of the printer and the profiles. If you have any questions about a certain feature, just open the plugin and hit F1 key. A help dialog from the internet will guide you through your printing setup. Also, youtube has some easy to watch videos on how to use this plugin. I have used it for my Pro-100 and now my Pro-1000 Canon printers. I use Canon paper, and Red River paper and I have profiled some Costco paper and some HP paper using my ColorMunki calibrator.

Thanks for your responses to my question. Sounds like there are good reasons to test the Canon plugin.
