This is quite a sight, an entire field (165 acres) of Ox Eye Daisys. It was planted as a polinator project.

Beautiful, Walt! We have a lot of those blooming here right now. Can I ask where that project is?

Those are called "False sunflower," also called "Oxeye sunflower" or Smooth oxeye" - Heliopsis helianthoides. It is a perennial species native to most of North America. "Oxeye daisy" - Leucanthemum vulgarehas - has white petals and is from the Old World. It has escaped from gardens and is naturalized all over North America.

False sunflower, or Oxeye:

It’s right here in my hometown at a nature center called Grimes Farm. They were planted about 3 years ago and were just blooming in June when I took this photo. I visit there several times each year and this was the first time I had seen this hillside covered in yellow blooms. Thanks for stopping by, looking and commenting.
