A lot of people on this site have stated to me time and again that I have the location of this picture WRONG!! And as previously stated several times in the previous pages. I MADE A MISTAKE!!! Yes it is the Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I took the picture several years ago and I mistakenly thought it was in the Adirondacks. My apologies!!! To all the people that said it is a great picture, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words. These are the people care about the picture itself and the statement it makes. I understand that many would like to know where the picture was taken to perhaps go there and see for them selves. And I understand that. But on the other hand is that so important that all people care about is proving someone wrong. Well that has been done, I’m not a pro, and perhaps I don’t document my photos as well as many of you do. For some reason I don’t get to concerned about that. Have you ever gone into a store that sells photograph’s and saw a picture you really liked? Well is the first thing that comes to mind is where the picture was taken or how the picture makes you feel. And I’ll bet that many of those photos don’t give you a location on them. Therefore, you will not see anymore of my photos on this site. It may be childish but I’m getting a bit annoyed and I just don’t need it. Again thanks to all that appreciate my photo for what it is. Good by.

I really liked your photo, really doesn't matter where it was taken! If you hadn't given a location no one would have known.
The sentiment that was raised here is what has chased a number of good photographers away. Hopefully you will continue with your excellent work and not let this thread discourage you.

I to agree. It shouldn't matter where or when the photos were taken, they should stand on their own merit and hopefully you will continue to post you work. Many of us enjoy seeing all the great photos from "the pros" and the amatures.

I am one of the people who questioned the location of the mill picture-not to criticize but to perhaps jog your memory. I live near the Mabry mill and have visited it many times. It has changed somewhat over the 60 years that I have observed it. I hope that anyone with a camera who ventures close to Mabry's Mill will take the extra time to visit and photograph it. It is awesome in all seasons!
I, also, liked your photograph. I like B&W of most subjects. (Its what I grew up with). Yours is very good.
I'm sorry if my original post was offensive or taken the wrong way.

Just curious: how is it you are just now adding your comment to a post from more than eight years ago? Though I'm glad you did because the photo was worth revisiting. Stay well.
