I upgraded to 2018 from 2017. In the 2017 I linked to Photos on my MacBook pro so when I clicked open image my photos came up. When I click open image on 2018 it takes me to my application folder. If I click on Photos nothing happens. Have been going back and forth with Skylum to no avail. Anyone have the answer? Luminar 2017 is great and I thought the 2018 version would be even better. Desparate.
No help from me as a Windows 10 Pro user other then when I did last upgrade I also had issues, that being unable to export after updates. Weeks of trying every thing Skylum could think of until they returned my purchase price. But thinking now still great program for doing updates and leaning toward re-purchase and using another program to export if still an issue...
I'm not sure what you're asking. I don't use Photos on my Mac, so I may not be of any help. I have Luminar 2018 (and just applied the latest update). It's a terrific program, getting better. I do have a plug-in for Lightroom, which Luminar installed without a hitch.
Are you saying you use a Luminar plug-in for Photos and it isn't working?
With Luminar 2017 I added and extention to photos. When I click open images in 2017 it opens Photos where my pictures are stored.
I don't use "Photos" on my MacBook Pro, but I opened it, opened a photo and exported to Luminar 2018.
1. I followed these instructions to install the required extension.
https://skylum.com/luminar/user-manual/2017/mac/luminar-photos-extension2. In "Photos" app, Show Tool Bar. Clicked "Extensions" icon, which is the top right row of icons. Extension choices included "Luminar 2018". Clicked that.
3. Luminar launched and I could edit in Luminar. What's strange is that the Mac's top menu still said "Photos", not "Luminar".
4. Edited and saved back to "Photos". Bottom line: It worked for me. If the Skylum geeks can't solve it, I doubt we can. Maybe, they're too busy moving into their new offices. Good luck.

I just upgraded to the latest version of 18 a couple of days ago and am having no problems exporting in Tiff or Jpeg using Windows 10.
Have been on-board with Luminar since the beginning, both as a plug-in with Aperture and as an extension with PHOTOS.
It sounds like 2018 may not have installed as an extension for your PHOTOS.
Try opening System Preferences } extensions. Then open Photos Editing, if Luminar 2018 isn't checked do so. If it is, then that's not the problem.
Then open PHOTOS; select an image, click on "edit". That should open several icons across the top. You should see a circle with 3 horizontal dots. Click on this --Luminar 2018 should appear, click on this and voila!
If none of that works contact SKYLUM.
Good luck
