Another Venus...

Shot several minutes of video (5000+/- frames) of Venus this evening with a Celestron 6in. SCT, 2x PowerMate (2000mm FL) and the Tiny1 camera, Celestron Evolution mount, unguided.
The result is about what I expected; a yellow blob with indications of phase...
Enjoy!

I've never seen it as yellow; it always looks white to me.

Nice shot Brian. Could it be the Power Mate that is causing the blurriness?
Or is the 6" just not enough scope to pull it in?
Craig
I see you bought the Tiny1, how do you like it?

The 6" (1000mm FL) is the bottom end (probably below the bottom end) of what's required for planets. I think the PowerMate is working as it should? Also, the atmosphere close to the horizon doesn't help!

It is an interesting camera... I was one of the original participants in the kickstarter program.
Still quite a few glitches in the software but they're getting most of them worked out.
I kinda like the concept of an all-in-one camera, i.e.: images, time-lapse, video. Sure cuts down on the amount of equipment one has to haul around.
The only thing I find (sadly) lacking is the capability to zoom on the real-time display for focusing and the Peak Focusing function is advertised but not implemented at this time. So a bit hard to get a really good focus with a camera lens. Focus with a telescope and Bahtinov mask works well.

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting you're up at the Artic Circle. Haha
