Some closeups from yesterday

I came across some nice Hawkweed and some Irises growing wild along a forestry road. It was a little breezy so a lot of waiting for both wind and some nice lght. Both images were shot with a Nikon 200mm/f4 lens.

Both are beautiful, Glenn, and especially on the downloads. I'd never heard of Hawkweed before. It's lovely, and I really like the angle of your shot.

Thank you Dixiegirl, I don't think the orange Hawkweed occurs as far south as your location. There are many varieties and colors of it but I have only seen the orange variety farther north, I know from NC to Ontario it is fairly common.

I think you're right, Glenn. I don't see Hawkweed listed in the guide I have for AL wildflowers.
