Where is this jungle shot with my bridge Sony dsc-rx10II camera a couple days ago. ten points to the winner who can identify the flora and the country of location of these two shots into the deep and dark.........
Just learning to use the new to me RX10II. Sony does not seem to be putting its foot in its mouth very much at all as it moves up the quality camera ladder even with this in between high level well respected set of bridge camera models. I like mine and will travel with just it and a charger and a couple extra batteries and sd cards this fall.
The first is a grass, perhaps a sedge variety. The second is maple and swordfern. USA. At least that is my theory.
both right as rain! well done!
Nice set, Lance and think there may be similar species around here!

Is the tree not sweet gum?
A bit more. The single five leaf is Va. creeper, a maple far left, a sweetgum center rear, and the fern may be either Christmas or interrupted. The ground cover is vinca minor. Md. has same plants. The single leaf lower left, if it is purple on underside,a terrestrial orchid.Md. has same. Bill
actually, the fern shot is out in the james river national wildlife refuge so your characterization is quite probably very accurate. good knowledge. the first is a rough grass in my back yard at the edge where it becomes dirt under the trees. I was just trying my new sony bridge camera out...you guys are all quite knowledgeabe on the flora!
I have all of that in my backyard. Good show!
FYI ,there are many terrestrial orchids in " our" area. Most are very low key. Funny, I will never catch up with photos what I have learned about nature. Not enough years left, and they less productive.
I am glad my third grade teacher wife did not see your heading. She would remind you that a preposition is something you never end a sentence with.
