After the loss of my last buddy, I have once again vowed to not have another. Now I have 3 grand-dogs that frequent my place. The Alpha Leader has lived with me for almost 6 years, she really belongs to my grandgirlies, but stays at Grandmas house. She is getting older and has epilepsy and requires meds 2x a day. She has already outlived her expected life span. I know someday she will be trotting over the Rainbow Bridge, but until then I will enjoy every day with her. (She is posted earlier in this thread).

Scoobie's picture made my heart ache (but in a good way). I lost my precious Scotty 7 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't still miss him. Now, my little bundle of love in the shape of a Yorkie does her best to fill in right behind his footsteps! She does a good job, too.
Poopers and Harley, right before Poopers went over Rainbow Bridge

Oh, PuppyLove, she is making her own place in your heart. And it seems to me you have a big heart.
I understand, as I'm sure all on this site do, how difficult it is to lose a beloved pet. Good luck to you and your darling Yorkie.

Know what's cool? So many of the creatures here are rescues!!!WTG peeps!!!And all are well -loved!!!
I so agree! I volunteered at an animal rescue organization "Animal Aide of St.Thomas-Elgin" for ten years and in that time we rescued over 1500 dogs and 9,000 cats. I had the pleasure of fostering just over 300 kittens in that time. Lots of work but OH SO REWARDING :-) It doesn't seem to matter how many come and go they all stay in the heart. Bless you all for caring and don't ever hesitate to ask if your local organizations and/or shelter would like some help or donations! The need is great! ...there I will get off the podium now ;-) Her are my two rescues. Kiki (black) She lost her eye as a kitten due to an eye infection that never got treated in time. Tom came from the pound at about 4 and sat at the shelter for 2 1/2 years. I was the only one that seemed to understand him and every time I tried to show him off he would act up and the people would not take him...I have now had him for several years...he is a suck and loves to wrap his paws around my neck and give me hugs! The last picture is Tom babysitting some of my fosters...and well...maybe wishing they would go away! LOL!
