For the reason you site, I periodically resort my photos just to have an excuse to look at them, and relive some of the experiences I had when they were taken.

Deep planning required on this, since I have no children or heirs I will ask to take my slide projector and thousands of slides with me so I can view them in the next world, electricity is free and the clouds will provide a great screen where I can impress all of my past & future family and friends of the talent that I possessed as a free human spirit who roamed the world and said cheese to everyone that I met and took there pictures, what a way to go :) Do they take film or digital formats there ?

I have a vast variety of photographs - many of them are family photo's mostly of my kids and many of wife's side of the family. I have a few of my side of the family but not as many. I would hope that one of my kids would take interest in them but I doubt it. So as is probably the case with 98% of all photo's taken since inception, they will probably be lost to time. However, I have taken many portraits, wedding's, and very special events that at least some of my work will last well beyond me and that's a nice thought to have.

When I retired 13 years ago, one of my long term projects was to digitize the 25 thousand or so negatives and slides in my collection. It didn't take long to find out no one, including me, wanted even to look at most of them. So I copied a few group photos from years ago and, as for the rest, I really don't care.
