Hi, I'm in a competition next month that involves making a short film with the 3D GoPro. Cameras are supplied, and there is some training involved before the competition begins. I've been researching it extensively, but I was wondering if anyone had experience using this camera who would share info about the it from a hands on perspective. What is handy to know about it that may not be apparent from reading? Just trying to get a jump in the completion, cause I want to win this thing! :)So Thanks.

I got one for my son for his birthday, but it hasn't been used yet. I would suggest a search on the web. I know there are lots of Hero videos, and I'm betting there is instruction, too.
Let us know how it turns out.
Hey Jerry, thanks for the input. I have been researching extensively online. Definately feeling like I know what needs to be done, even though I've never touched the equipment (nerve wracking!). Just thought I'd see if I could uncover any "insider tips" so to speak. Best of luck to your kid and his new camera! :) If I learn any tips, after the competition, I'll post them.

Wow! This post is from a long time ago. Thanks for the offer of help, Jean, but I got the info I needed. :) We won the competition and were awarded two GoPros with a 3D Hero rig.

Wonderful news. so glad you won!!! Enjoy the new gear. Cheers, Jean.
why don't you post the winning entry? Would be fun. I have a gopro I rarely use. That is for very active people.
Sure. The challenge was to make a 90 second, silent, 3D film in 48 hours with equipment that most participants had never seen before. Our story gets a bit lost in this flick, I admit it. :) 90 seconds is short. Our priority was on making the best use we could of the 3D, and to create a visual spectacle, cause that's what wins. We won the GoPro 3D setup. Unfortunately, we haven't shot 3D since, but we've used the GoPros a lot.
3D version requires glasses. YouTube's player will let you set it to the type of glasses you've got. If you don't have 3D glasses, watch the 2D version.

VERY innovative and original... I was fortunate to have glasses with which to view it....mine are bifocals and it looked great.....[Grins]
