Hello from Oregon..
Welcome! You are not alone in being a 'scaredycat' as it took me almost a year before I could post my first photo and I buried it in a big batch of animal photos. Once you post a picture, it gets much easier, but I am still very intimidated by all the great photographers on this website...but hope to be able to someday (many years from now) be able to do some photos somewhat in their league. You will learn much even if you never post any photo! Enjoy!

I would love to live at the coast, but no such luck! I do try and go there as often as I can. The cost of fuel kinda keeps me grounded. I live near Roseburg. Population 1150.
Roseburg is great. I try to get their a few each year. Wildlife Safari in Winston is wonderful.

I wish... I was training with my job and I was only able to sneak out a few times around the Salem area. I really want to see Haystack Rock.
Not sure if I'm even supposed to post a pic here, but I saw the reference to Haystack and couldn't resist. Also my apologies for hijacking the OP's thread. ed

Geez and I didn't even welcome lonnieo to the UHH. Welcome, you'll love it here. Lots of good people and good information. ed
Welcome and the people here have been the greatest as far as good sound advice goes. This is the place to learn and we all welcome you.
Hello moirish...Thank you for the encouraging words. I will work up the courage to post a picture one of these days. At my age I shouldn't wait too long! ROTFL!!!!
It took 3 months to introduce myself.
Does your name mean you are Irish? Have a great day!
Hello sac-jack,
Thanks a bunch for you kind welcome. Every one has been very encouraging and kind. Have a great day!
Hi Ed..
Thanks much for the welcome. Loved the photo of Haystack Rock. I'll bet you get a lot of photo ops since you live around my favorite area. Isn't the coast gorgous in the summer. I won't mention the grey days of winter!
Just dropped by to say thanks for the welcome. Everyone has been very kind, I'm beginning to feel at home here
I really like Wildlife Safari. Did you see the Lepard cubs? So precious! Have a good day..
100% Irish so beware of the blarney :D WELCOME
Hi Moirish,
My mothers people came from Ireland to Canada. My Grandfather married a French Canadian, so I guess I'm
Half and half! Enjoy your day...
That's so funny as I was told that my dad's side of the family also came from Ireland via Canada. He had four brothers who all died from heart disease before I was born. None were married except for one and he died right before my dad and he had two sons. I never knew I had two cousins until the day of my dad's funeral...and never saw them again. I think they are still in Chicago. Felt so cheated. All my relatives are dead now. Spent a lot of time in highschool going to wakes and funerals - some of which were really fun :-o
Welcome aboard, lonnieo! Nice to see another fellow cat-loving Oregonian on board - and just up the road from us, even!
Thank you for the welcome. Yes, I am a "Cat lady"! I have two females. The one I used for my avatar is Gracie and the other one is named Oatmeal. Both are rescues.
Oaty is 11, Gracie is 3. I will try to include a photo of Oatmeal. Is the cat in your avatar your Kitty?
Have a great day!

Yeah, the current "animated cat avatar mark II" is our big guy, Max. You can see a family shot of our 8 rescue kitties toward the bottom of a recent page here:
