Anyone have any insights into this new Sony Camera?

Hard to have insights until its actually available for purchase. Pre-order item right now. Expected shipping date 4-10-18
Ken Rockwell got hold of one and has a hands on review on his website. He likes it a lot. Some around here don'r like him a lot, but that's the way it goes.

I like Ken Rockwell because he is about the only reviewer who posted the country of origin of the camera.
If you wait for the Sony Alpha a7 IV Mirrorless to come out, you will find out everything wrong with the Sony Alpha a7 III Mirrorless. Until then, it is the perfect camera. (Rule number 17)

Google for reviews. All that I have seen have been extremely positive. Keep in mind a lot depends on what you shoot.

I'd consider going mirrorless if I didn't have to get rid of my DSLR and all my (3) lenses or buy a big ungainly-looking adapter. I would like to upgrade my a77 at some point, though. I'll probably rent an older FF this summer to get the feel of one and see if I want to go that route...rented an a77ii and a white lens last year and had fun with it at an aviation convention.

What I shoot? How so?
If you shoot lot of landscapes a camera with higher resolution might be better for you. If you shoot lot of sports or birds in flight a crop sensor camera might be better for you.
If you prefer to focus manually an older version of this camera might be a better value for money for you. Etc.
But generally this is a very good camera.
Thanks. I was not aware that you could not focus manually with this camera.

That was not what I meant. You can focus manually with it. But there is no need to spend $2000 on 700 autofocus points and better autofocus tracking capabilities if you are shooting manual
I have used this camera for ~6 weeks now. Travel photography, landscape, street scenes, night scapes, portraits, etc. I also have a the Sony a7Rll. The a7iii is far superior in every way in my experience. Fast, accurate focus. Great color. Easy to use. My only issue (and it's minor) the the 24 Megapixel sensor. Coming off the a7Rii's 42 Megapixel sensor, the cropping size can be a limitation for some. At this price, I am going to buy a back-up....LOL
