I honestly LOVE where I live! You can pay to get into Glacier National Park or you can explore the vast other off-the-beaten path roads, trails and water ways! Plus you have the chance to see all kinds of critters!

Living as I do in Bigfork, Montana, 45 minutes from Glacier National Park, I agree that our area is a gold mine of photographic treasures. Too bad we have a white winter for about 7 months each year! The middle picture is calf branding day with our friends.

Atlanta Idaho is a historical gold mining town that was once thriving with families and gold minors looking to strike it rich. Located up in the mountains, four hours down a dirt road outside of Boise Idaho there are still many of the original buildings, cabins, old historical buildings, gold mining flues and equipment. There is a Church, two bars and a hand full of residents that still live there. It is a beautiful place where you can enjoy the beauty of nature as well as a bit of history.

Nice. Agree with your assessment, including the traffic. Hit Sydney rush-hour traffic on the second day of a drive back from Adelaide. We started in Hay in the morning. Spent four months based in Pymble just of Mona Vale Road. Pacific Highway=Dreadful rush-hour traffic. Train into CBD was terrific. Glorious views. Never able to get down there in the early morning.

Really beautiful country all around....some of these places I have been to occasionally..Santa Fe for one. The hottest chili on North America...I ordered chili there in the place called The Garden I think, in old town and the lady asked me where I was from..Québec...''no you don't want this chili but I'll let you taste it first'' YIKES

Now back around here .....Might be a re-run but these are places where I hike almost weekly from when the ice goes down until it comes back up again.

Walking here in my solitude beats all the pills I'm taking daily
