Is there a way to shoot video on the 5D4 in both MOV and MP4 formats simultaneously, either on the same or different cards? I know that you can convert MOV to MP4 and the other way around, but I am trying to find out if I can record both formats in-camera. Thanks.

I’ll bet no camera, even a true video camera, can pull that off.

Wishful thinking on my part, I guess. I was hoping that since cameras can capture two formats of still photos simultaneously, they could also record two video formats. Thanks.

Sorry that is not possible, even thought the M IV can record hdr video (two exposures at the same time), it can not record in more than one file format at once!

No. Why would you need to do that?

My thought exactly. MOV is just a container usually for MP4, but can hold other formats. Virtually any processing or editing software will read either.

I've been doing video for quite a few family events, and some want MOV while others want MP4. I thought it would be more convenient if I could do it in-camera rather than using software.
Since the camera is capable of generating video in either format, I thought it may be possible to record both simultaneously, just like you can record stills in both JPG and RAW simultaneously. Thanks.
I can understand the thought, but since virtually all computers, tablets, TV's and so on support both, it's not that much of an issue. Some are just unaware of this.
Or you could shoot in MOV and use a tool like Handbrake to quickly convert to MP4 as one option. I work as a professional videographer myself, and never deliver anything straight out of camera anyway. I feel even the shortest pieces benefit from some form of editing. Shot of birthday cake, cut to reaction shot of birthday boy/girl, then wide shot of group, and so on.
