One more idiot thinking a selfie won't hurt !
Apparently, this is the third wild animal/selfie fatality in India in the past year. The other two involved elephants.
A recent study has found that selfie deaths are more frequent in India.
"Conducted by Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania, US, and Indraprastha Institute of Information in Delhi, India, the study found that 76 of the 127 reported selfie deaths during that time (March 2014 through September 2016) occurred in India."
Some more data from that report:

Our Canadian neighbors seem to be a bit smarter than us.They didn't even make the list!
Just curious, do you think all the people that died in the selfie list was from the countries in which they occurred???
Having given it some thought, the litigious nature of western countries may be responsible for these disparities to a degree. Here is the US, you probably can't get close enough to as many dangerous situations due to fencing erected or guards placed to prevent mishaps (by "mishaps" I mean stupidity) in order to avoid being sued.
No matter where you go, you will Always find and see Stupid people doing Stupid things.
