This poor little thing about broke my heart as she was perusing the trash can as if it were a buffet.
I went to her and took her hand and pressed twenty dollars in it. Her eyes widened with fear, then she grabbed me with all her strength and her eyes moistened with thankful tears.
I look at this photo and the elderly in Vietnam and Korea come flooding in.
What was her story? Had she been a discarded slave?
What do you think?
Your shot is very interesting. The elderly lady pictured looking in the trash container was once young and innocent, like the toddler shown with her mother and indeed like the mother also, full of life and purpose. Now seemingly discarded like an old worn out shoe and relegated to scrounging to survive. Three stages of life in one shot very well taken. Bless you, for providing help to another person who seems without help. I am sure you made Jesus smile.
