Being new to digital photography I find the various camera models very confusing. Is there a site or spread sheet which lists the various camera models by number such as D850 or T5i that has a meaningful comparison of what they are and what their features are? Full frame vs APS-C, etc, etc. There seem to be so many model numbers which change so frequently it’s hard to get a grip on what their capabilities and features are. I’m sure a complete listing by price would give me an idea but, that may not be very effective. Help!
See if you can get the compare function at B&H photo to show the differences?

DPreview not only lists all the new camera's it also keeps the old reviews online too.
Hint......open the review of 'camera 1' and then in a new window open the review of 'camera 2' You can get both camera's tech spec simply by swapping windows which makes comparison easier. Also look at the 'older version' and see 'what is new' and if you 'need' it......some new versions only have a limited upgrade in actual specifications.....and they can be quite minor.
Have fun

Go to DxOMark 'Explore Camera Sensor Database'
https://www.dxomark.com/cameras/brand-nikon-sony/launched-between-2002-and-2017/launch_price-from-0-to-45200-usd/sensor_format-sensor_apsc-sensor_fullframe#hideAdvancedOptions=false&viewMode=list&yDataType=rankDxoYou can filter the database for Full Frame, APS-C, Micro 4/3 etc or 'all'. It will show all of the cameras they have tested along with the price, mpix, launch date, sensor score etc. If you click on the heading at the top of the right hand columns you can sort them by score for portrait, landscape, sports etc. Click on the + sign at the right to add a camera to a 'compare' list. When comparing, you can click on tabs for full specs, performance charts, and compare them with tested lenses.
Select a couple cameras you want to compare and type in Camera X vs. Camera Y. You'll get some sites, but a couple that are good are Imaging Resource and Camera Decision. They list all the features and specs of the cameras, and Camera Decision also shows you where each excels and what their low points are, too.
Simple site but you might like “camera decision.com”

On the bhphotovideo.com web site you can compare models. Also, read the actual user reviews, when you read the reviews, remember that actual users rate their gear. By wary of very negative or very positive ones, read them all, it will give you an overall impression.
I think you asked a good question. If I were you I would go to each of the camera manufacturer websites and check their line up. Download the specification of each of the cameras. Look on line at a typical reliable vendor like B&H or Adorama to check for price. Their prices should be very close to what you can get. Then make your own spreadsheet to compare. There will be items in the specifications that you don't know then you can ask us again.
It's very time consuming but it could be fun and cost you nothing.

Right! Camera model names and terminology can be very confusing. I understand the Nikon system, but I would have to use Google to figure out other brands. Sensor size has the same situation - too many "standards." Use Google - or UHH - to get the info you want.
