Trip to Greece
I am going to Greece in a week or so, and I have ruled my photo equipment to one of the 2 following. Any comments and suggestions for changes greatly appreciated.
1. Full frame camera and 11--24mm, 24--70, 70--200.
2. Full Frame camera and 11--24, 24--70, 100--400.
I have only traveled abroad once before, so not too sure what to take. I could replace the 24--70 with a 24--105, but with a compromise in image quality.
Thanks,

Hi Bob
11mm on a FF camera sounds very wide and very heavy. And if its Canon's EF 11-24, it might possibly attract the wrong sort of attention with its distinctive and expensive bulbous front element. And filters for it are just a bitch anyway.
Personally, I think I'd just take the 24-105, unless there is some wildlife involved, and in anycase I'd take the 100-400 over the 70-200.
While in Greece will you be spending some time at a Greek Island resort? When my kids went on a college tour, they spent 4 days at one and it was the highlight of a 3 1/2 week European tour.

If you are going to be frequently on the move or walking around for for more than a couple of hours per day, I think you would be fine with just the 24-70. The 24-105 would be better, but if you are not happy with the IQ there is not much point in bringing it with you. If you are going to have a fixed base, bring as much as you can pack. If you are going to Santorini consider a tripod for the sunsets. If you are going to be spending a lot of time visiting ancient ruins just bring a point and shoot and a big water bottle.
Most important - have fun and post pics when you get back.

You are unlikely to need the 100-400. Depending on the type of trip changing lenses in the field might reduce your enjoyment of the trip. Depending on the weight of the lenses I’d probably take only the 24-105.
Based on experience I’m leaving my full frame at home on my European river cruise next month. I know I’ll be happy with just my f2.8 17-50 on my DX camera. The f2.8 helps on the indoor shots, many whichdisallow flash. But since I have a lightweight 70-300 I’ll bring it in the bag for use on the boat.

If it was me, and it's not, travel right, travel lite. I would take the 11-24 and 100-400. But if I were taking the trip, all I would take is a Sony point and shoot with a belt pouch for it. You really are considering TOO much gear.
Depending on what type of shots you habitually take, the needs for lenses differ. Unless you are really trying for high-quality photos for enlargement or sale, I'd leave the full-frame at home and just take the crop sensor. I take landscape photos, closeups of flowers, and interior shots on my tours, so I need lens coverage from wide angle to telephoto. Although I like decent pictures, I don't need real high-quality, so I make do with just my 18-200VR2 zoom on my D7100 camera. It's amazing what can be done with that lens if one really tries.
With that in mind, I suspect that most of your photography could be handled with the 24-70, but you'd probably be advised to have the 100-400 with you. If 24mm is not wide enough, just take a series of overlapping photos and make a panorama--it's not hard to do and the results can be astounding. You don't say how much poorer the 24-105 lens is, but it would be a better walk-around solution if it makes satisfactory pictures. Only you can make that decision.
#2 !! You'll approach the reach of the lens.

The 24-105. I think you would appreciate the extra reach. I suggest limiting your gear to one lens if you will be doing a lot of walking/touring.

If you are not on assignment for a magazine or shooting for money, just take the 24-105 and have a nice adventure
The 24-105 will serve you best. You will be walking a great deal over steep terrain at times so the weight of your gear will begin to matter. The sunlight is in abundance so you will only need a fast lense for interior shots. I found that an F/4 lens was OK with a little ISO push for most interiors. Take a 1.8-2.8 P&S on a belt pouch for everything else and you are all set. Have a wonderful time.
I have the same gear. If it were me I'd only take the two lenses that cover 24-200mm range. I'm assuming they are the 24-70 f2.8L & the 70-200 f2.8L IS v. 1 or 2. I can carry those lenses, my 5D III, 2-600EX RT flashes w/diffusers (but I'd only take one), polarized filter (if I'm not mistaken 77mm fits both lenses), charger, extra batteries and memory cards all in my Lowpro slingshot bag and it's small enough to carry on the plane.

I'm sending this reply from Athens. Bring it all, you know where you're going for the day, carry what you think best and leave the rest in the room safe. 24-70 is the lens I use most as my walk around lens and I fill in depending on where I'm going. You will just LOVE Greece! Have a great time.

Another vote for the 24-105 f4 but from your list, 24-70 & 70-200. You'll probably find that the vast majority of your shots will be from the 24-70. But.... on the bright side, your body may benefit from lugging the 70-200 around. JUst remember to occasionally move the bag strap from one shoulder to the other.
