What is the Best suggested way of transferring my D3300 images from my Camera to my Laptop?
1. SDHC Card Reader?
2. Using my Camera's Cable from my D3300 Camera to my Laptop?
3. WiFi?
I use 2. and Image Capture, which puts the raw files in a designated folder for review.
1 or 2 Hopefully you're organized with your files. 3. Is by far the slowest.

Oh, by the way, if you want fastest transfer, get a USB3 card reader and connect to a USB3 port on your computer. USB3 ports are BLUE.

The card reader would be the fastest. Also, saves battery.

SD card reader; faster and will not drain battery on camera. WiFi, in my opinion, when left on, will go bananas looking for a connection which boosts the radio power to max and drains juice.
I don't do any of them. I have a SSD on my laptop for programs and attach a separate external portable HD for my picture files.

So you NEVER take pictures off your camera????

You should know that Number 2 creates a 5 volt link (USB) that can short out the card reader circuit in your camera, if not done exactly right. I have seen this happen more than once in my PC consulting biz (25 years). Cost of replacing the card reader in your camera prohibitive. Rare, but it happens.
All USB connections carry 5 volts through the system.
Card reader eliminates the risk of short to the camera.
This has been addressed responsibly in "some" camera manuals. Unfortunately not all, leaving consumers at risk.
WiFi... PITA!
I always carry a multi card reader with slots for most major memory cards. Cost about $20.
I prefer the card reader.

after 2015 most laptops and PCs have a built in SDHC reader (slot). As I'm sure dsmeltz does, I remove my card from the camera, put it in the slot and read from that into (in my case) PS Essentials. From there, my photographs are stored on an external drive and in the "nebulous cloud"

My preference is from a SDHC Card Reader to my Lightroom program on my laptop and then backed up on a auxillary external drive.
