I purchased this lens and never really used it, it has been mounted to my camera and a few shots taken around the house but the lens has been so little used that it never made it outside.

Anyway, Lens is in like new condition $135 free shipping to CONUS. I will try to put up some pics this weekend.

The lens has sold

What would this lens be best for? Walking around, street photography?

Yes, that would probably be its best uses, good for landscape as well. It is a very sharp lens and the STM focusing motor makes it good for video.

Would I notice a difference between my 50 1.8? I just got a 6D Mark II yesterday and right now that’s what I’m using, until I can get my hands on a 24-70, or possibly 24-105. I would also really like to try an 85mm.

It's a nice little lens, very capable, but if I remember right, that is the price of a new one (that's what I paid when I bought mine)!

Bridie, I have sold the lens, but to answer your question it would be a little wider that's all, your 50/1.8 will serve you well until you can save up for a good zoom. I highly recommend the older Tamron 24-70 f/2.8. It is the same optical formula as the new Tamron lens and reviews have it performing at the same level as the newer lens. I have one and have compared it with the Canon 24-105 f/4L and I liked the Tamron better even though it did not have as long of a reach. What makes the Tamron so attractive right now is that with the release of the newer model the older lens, the one that I have, has seen a big drop in price. The same can be said of the Tokina 24-70 f/2.8, the Tokina is at a very reasonable price right now also and although it has excellent image quality it does not have image stabilization which the Tamron does. Both of these lenses are being sold at bargain prices right now. Below are some links to take a look at these lenses however if you wait to long I am afraid that they will sell out, I did not find Adorama carrying the Tamron when I searched for these links.

He sold it and his price was about 75%of the current new price of $179. Don’t know where you got a new one for $135, but I would be interested in finding out where.

Thanks so much for the info! I’m looking into it now. Glad you were able to sell your 40mm so quickly. It was a good price. I’ll take an 85mm for that price if you have one...
