Well, my beloved Canon Power Shot S 100 pocket digital camera would not activate my shutter. I reached out to Canon and they said it was no longer supported and they could not fix it. I located a company in California but they also declined the repair because they could no longer get repair items for the S100. Being persistent, I continued searching until I found United Camera in Elk Grove, Illinois who said they could repair the S100, had a web site with an estimate sheet for repairs for the S100, so I packed the camera and enclosed the $94.00 they wanted pre-paid, and off it went. Within 3 days I received a e-mail stating they received the camera, evaluated the problem, ordered the necessary repair items, and within a total of 7 days I had the camera back in my possession. They kept in touch with me throughout the entire process and were a pleasure to deal with. The camera works great, actually smoother than when it was new, and I am very happy. I would give United Camera a five star rating and recommend them to anyone with a camera repair issue. It sure was nice to deal with a company that made me feel comfortable, had a great communication effort, and gave me the personal attention we all hope for. There guarantee and warranty is reassuring, and I could not be happier.

Good information, I'll save this for future use.
Thanks
They repaired my Canon 100-400 mk1 (compression lock and front lens scratch)... same communication pattern. Came back looking/working like NEW!!! Great service!
Years ago they overhauled my old, much beloved Pentax MX. Brought it back to factory new specs. Great people to work with.

Good to Know, Indiana. Thanks for reporting.
I had an equally positive experience with United Camera a few years ago when I had a Nikon D7100 that needed to be repaired at a very reasonable cost. I was impressed with the constant communications initiated by them.

I used United Camera to repair a Nikkor 35mm f/2 D lens with sticky aperture blades. My experience was excellent and mirrored that of the OP. I highly recommend United Camera for lens repairs as well.
Thank you for sharing the info. If something happens to my gear they will be my go to repair place.
