I have these and they are specific to camera lenses. They work great.

I suggest ROR (Residual Oil Remover) Check it out on this web site:
http://www.ror.net/Have been using it for years. Completely safe for the coatings on quality camera lenses.
I believe it's available from Amazon also.

I know it's controversial but I use a B+H clear filter and virtually never clean the lens.
Agreed! No Alcohol! Definitely will hurt some of the new coatings. Blow and brush first then use lens cleaning solution (smells like windex to me) but NO ammonia and NO alcohol.
My humble regimen:
Brush lightly with soft lens brush, blow with blower then with slightly moistened(distilled water) q-tip make concentric circles from center of lens to outside. Then use a dry q-tip to polish. I have done this for years, and I have been pleased with the results, and no chance of damaging coatings with chemicals.

Not sure the lens glass would get that dirty for the need of a 'wet' patch to clean. I have had great
success with the 'lens pens' from the various manufacturers. They are a soft brush on one end and
a protected cleaning pad on the other. Prices ranging from around 7.99 to 19.99$
depending where you buy. Also, after cleaning use the 'air bulb' to blow away any residual.
Good luck.

I think it makes more sense to blow as a first step to cleaning, rather than at the very end... to remove possible sand particles and such before rubbing the lens.

My breath (contains alcohol) and my T-shirt.

I second the use of ROR-it's an amazing cleaner, and will remove what a Lenspen and others, won't. I use microfibers, Lenspens, etc, but for the best cleaning, it's ROR, hands down.
