is the new Lightroom CC for 10.00 a month worth it. Does it have an advantage over the present Lightroom with Photoshop?

Updates are quite frequent and some quite impressive. I do love the program, and it includes the big guy Photoshop. I do most of my editing with Lightroom but some things just cannot be done in Lightroom and Photoshop is sitting there waiting. Something as simple as adding text can't be done in Lightroom. Also, photos cannot be combined. I'm not crazy about subscription software, but this is a great combination.

Lightroom CC is more limited in capability for post-processing than Lightroom CC Classic--it only contains a subset of Lightroom CC Classic features. Also, since Lightroom CC is cloud-based, using it with large collections of photos will become more expensive as more cloud storage will be required. I have never figured out any advantage of Lightroom CC for 98% of us.

I think so. you get both lightrooms, photoshop, bridge, camera raw and 20 GB of storage. All programs are update frequently
Lightroom CC is for smartphones, tables or mobile devices.
Lightroom Classic CC,Bridge, and Camera Raw is for laptops and desktops

Lightroom CC is the cloud version. Everything goes to the cloud.
Lightroom CC Classic is the local version. Everything stays on your computer (unless you send it somewhere else outside of LR).

I have been using LR/PS/CC for about 3 years now and for me it's definitely a good value. I don't use the cloud version, just LR CC Classic. For that $9.99 a month (plus sales tax) I get LR + PS + Bridge + a couple other programs I haven't tried out yet.

In my opinion, LR is a pretty good editor but probably not the best one out there. However, coupled with PS and the database/catalog I haven't seen anything to match it. The database is important to me. The pretty good LR editor handshakes well with the can't-be-beat PS editor so images that I can't quite get the way I want them in LR can be easily sent to PS, then back to LR for the database.

The price is significantly less than my other photography expenses, and less than impulse purchases I make (but get little value from).

Whoops! Since the $10/mo. was mentioned my comments referred to Lightroom Classic. So far I'm not a big fan of the Lightroom "Lite" model.

Adobe has muddied the waters with it’s Lightroom product. It used to be just Lightroom. Then they came out with their new cloud connected Lightroom called Lightroom CC. Those of us that had been using Lightroom all along were now being told we were using Lightroom CC Classic. Lightroom CC Classic uses the storage on your computer, Lightroom CC is cloud connected and that subscription is $20/mo and has some newer capabilities and a new look to it. Unless they have changed it again, you can’t use your own storage with the new Lightroom CC cloud based product.

It is not one or the other. It is a system of parts.

As already stated, Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC are both included in the $10 plan. Most see it as a choice. It is not. The parts work together. With Classic as the foundation, the other parts in the plan extend capabilities to the interconnected world.

Using computer based Lightroom Classic with selected photos synced to cloud based Lightroom CC allows a variety of sharing option. One is a portfolio system. Another is providing clients with subsets of what you might want them to see.

By using them in the intended linked way and "Myportfolio.com" (that is included in the plan), I have my first ever "website" for both my photography and videography. The link is in my signature below.

I believe the basic photography package at $9.99 (plus sales tax) includes both LR classic and LR cloud and some cloud storage. The $20/month subscription includes additional cloud storage.

There are three plans for photographers.

One has both Lightrooms, Photoshop, extras like MyPortfolio and 20GB of "starter" cloud storage. $10 a month.
The second has the same, but with 1TB of cloud storage. $20 a month.
The third is only cloud Lightroom CC (no classic, no Photoshop) and has 1TB of storage. $10 a month.

The "real deal" is $50 a month with 20 apps ranging from tools for movie production to brochure production.

For the $10 a month subscription, Adobe gives you Lightroom Classic CC, Lightroom CC, Photoshop CC, Bridge CC, Camera Raw CC and Touch App Plugins. So if you subscribe you will be able to judge for yourself with no additional cost. I use both Lightroom Classic CC and CC along with Photoshop CC and find that the money is well spent.

Lightroom Classic CC allows a greater degree of control, however although Lightroom CC has a few useful features that Classic does not have, it is more limited in its capabilities. For the majority of my work, I find that Lightroom Classic combined with Photoshop CC for the more detailed part of the job works best.

Since you get both versions of Lightroom (Lightroom Classic and the new Lightroom (cloud)), it is a good deal. Personally, the only thing I use the "NEW" Lightroom for is the few, very occasional, shots that I take with my cell phone. I like to use it on the cell as it is less involved and quick and dirty. I can get 10 times better images using the Lightroom Classic but it doesn't work well in the limited space of the cell phone. Classic is my main product for any "professional" editing/developing that I do on a "REAL" camera.

That depends. It's not worth it to me because LR 6.14 and PS 6 do all I need. If I were pushing the limit or doing this to make a living, I'd rethink my choices. Spending $120 a year for something I already have isn't in my financial plan. If I were starting out in processing, I'd probably get Affinity, ON1, or one of the many other programs that you can buy just once. How about Photoshop Elements? You get lots of features for a reasonable price.

I have and use both. Seems to me that LR CC is the future, although adobe will for the foreseeable future (most of our photo lifetime!) keep Classic. I like having my actual photos in the cloud, just another backup. I think adobe will focus on bringing more and more classic tools to CC. Try both.
