Following Rockdog's lead from earlier this month I drove 80 miles to the refuge. The rains had just cleared and I had the whole place to myself. I managed to capture some long range shots of the snow geese, the Sutter Buttes and a close up of some plants I know not the name of. Check out the downloads please.

Happy to hear you had a good day. The Sutter Buttes are a very interesting geologic feature of the northern Sacramento valley.

Yes. I got out and walked the perimeter of this portion of the preserve. It was about a 3 mile walk. Beautiful day just after the rains had passed through.

Thanks for the ID of the plant. They had some pictures posted on the welcome sign showing the different species of wildlife and flora. I wish now I'd taken a picture as a reference. Next time I will.
