As a 64 year old woman, I remember growing up with uncles who had a few guns that they used for hunting rabbits. There was one gun club in the county which was mainly a place to socialize and picnic. We never worried about being shot at school or anywhere else. We would have thought that anybody who ranted about needing a gun to fight the tyrannical government was a complete loon. The greedy gun industry partnered with the NRA have changed everything and now none of us are safe from gun violence.

Well, I'm 73 and have owned guns all my life. What you people fail to realize is the root cause of this problem and it isn't guns! It's the hearts of people, the lack of parents actually raising their children, instead of being a pal to them! It is the lack of discipline in society in general and the lack of compassion towards others. You can thank people like Madeline O'Hara and Dr. Spock for their input into society and see just when this all started. We have removed prayer from the schools and the pledge of the flag. Community involvement is almost non existent and the schools are not there to raise your child, they are there to teach! You claim the NRA has partnered with the gun industry? I claim that PPH has been the demise of a civil society that does not murder the unborn. I also don't see you ranting and raving about cars that kill more each and everyday due to texting while driving or drinking and driving. Guns are not the problem, it is the attitude of our society that life is not precious! Wake UP!

Squeezer, I know lots of people with guns as well, I have a few too, but they aren’t waving them all over the internet or FB!
When guns are outlawed, are you gonna become an outlaw or stay a law abiding citizen?! LoL
SS

SS, when guns become outlawed, you better own a gun, for it will be the last defense you will have to protect your loved ones, as this won't be America anymore, but another third world socialistic society! If you don't like what is going on now, you and others are in for a huge awakening. Nah, I'll keep my guns!

Pass any legislation you want. All you will do is keep guns away from law abiding citizens. All that is necessary is to enforce current laws. I will tell you what changes I would like to see. First crime where a gun is used -5 year manditory sentence 2nd crime 10 years 3rd - life

Gun violence happens because we have removed prayer from the schools and the pledge of the flag.

Hahahahahahahaha! That's a new one. I've heard a lot of moronic "blame everything but the guns" NRA bullshit diversions, but that's the best one so far! You kill me, juicesqueezer! Thanks for the laugh.

oh goody, we're talking guns again. what's the nra doing with all that money??????? every time a republican gets elected or someone whispers " gun regulation", I and thousands of others get calls from an army of nra fund raisers for an emergency war chest to fight the newest threat. where is all that money going??? how about we arm every one with a pistol on their hip or a rifle slung over their shoulder. oh shit I just remembered, the police cringe ate the idea of facing one armed citizen, they'd have an panic attack with a room filled with them.

It's not like you offered any logical reasons for the uptick. Only to denigrate their observation. Guns have been around forever but the upsurge hasn't. What's your thought as to the reason for the uptick ?..

They are doing the same thing with the money as the unions do....Lobbying their congressmen. Unions have the same tactics, yet you don't denigrate Unions, why? As the husband of a Sheriffs department employee, your assessment couldn't be farther from the truth. Get a grip.

Putting all those poor misunderstood killers or potential killers in jail or even in a mental hospital is cruel. What are we coming to? Notice how all the lefty's
are inviting them to live with them where they can be cured. WOW! Imagine KKKeenan or Sperm Swallower taking in a couple themselves.

Facebook data mining is also part of how Obama got elected... By doing so, you just reinforce your bigotry of any who may disagree with you. I'm assuming you are against free speech as well. Oh wait, only speech with you don't agree with should be banned.

I don't know that Russian exploitation was involved in the election of Obama. Got sources?

You mean like Somalia--where there is no government and everyone is armed?

BTW, keep your guns--I don't give a shit. Its your logic that is suspect.

Like putting words in my mouth that I never said in order to make me look bad? I never said there was Russian involvement but there was data mining. Well, actually not as Facebook gave them the info. Just as duplicitous.

Thank you for your insight. I had no idea they had all these problems until they put God into the pledge of allegiance in the 50's. God has not been removed from the pledge (should have been) and he wasn't in the pledge until 1954. I'm actually not aware of any problems they were having that were solved by putting god into the pledge, and I'm not aware of any problems that would be caused by taking god back out.

Just like I've never been aware of any deaths caused by the guns just firing themselves. Oh wait, someone had to pull the trigger. Geez, you think that may be the problem?
