Went though this process several months back and tried several-Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Leica, etc. Settled on Canon G7x Mark II and have not regretted. There are compromises with each decision and you will choose your comfort level. Size alone with quality and good zoom is Leica C (Type 112); Panasonic’s have great zoom and I agree that Sony menus not my favorite either. Canon G7X hit most my high marks; have it with me all the time. Quality is on level with my DSLR which I now use less and less.

My pocket camera is an Olympus TG-4 (has been superseded by the TG-5) which is definitely pocket size, good ZOOM, shoots RAW, lots of settings to play with (if you want to), and has the added benefit of being waterproof, freeze proof, dust proof, drop proof, and crush proof. If you want to use it in your boat, snorkeling, skiing, in the desert, or while you're cage fighting. I'm very happy with mine and carry it wherever I don't want to take the expensive stuff and camera bag.

Need a camera to have with me when I don’t want to carry Canon 5D Mark III. Too heavy to always carry. I shoot raw. Tried Sony A6500. Don’t like menu. Probably another Canon but open to suggestions.

Look for a smart phone that shoots raw.

My shirt pocket camera is the Canon PowerShot A1400. I got it for under $100 from Canon as a refurb, so like new. One good feature is it takes ordinary AA batteries. Have no specs on sensor size and raw/jpeg options, or other stuff. Canon probably has that data online.

The Canon G7x Mark II is what I have also. It is an excellent camera.

Check out the Olympus Tough series water proof and there is a telephoto and wide angle, macro lens set.
