Travels With Bob..........Walking around some streets in Portugal.
Continuing with a few more pictures from Funchal, Portugal. Before heading back to our ship we had some free time to walk around & mix with the locals. Much earlier I had posted some from the Market Place so will not repeat them here. Did find a nice little park that we enjoyed. Bob
(1)These are some apartment buildings along this narrow street. To the left of the bikes is a nice little park. And further left on the other side of the park is a main divided street with shops, etc.

(2) There were several of these strange, but interesting looking trees in the park.

(3) We did find a nice selection of colorful flowers to brighten a somewhat cloudy day!

Excellent quality in all these shots. Beautiful area to visit. No matter where you are, there always seem to be lovely flowers to enjoy!

Thanks Cwilson341.......Thank you for your very nice comment. Flowers always have a way of saying to the camera....."take my picture....please!" So of course.....we do! I'm sure now that Spring is approaching we will all be snapping shots of its welcome arrival. Much appreciated, Bob

Thanks Bill_de.......Nice comment! Thanks for looking & for the reminder that we all "can find beauty anywhere"......when we look for it. Much appreciated, Bob
Very nice series, by the way, Funchal is a large city in the island of Madeira, the municipal seat and the capital of Portugal's Autonomous Region of Madeira, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean. The city has a population of 111,892, making it the 6th largest city in Portugal, and has been the capital of Madeira for more than five centuries.
Nice series of photos Bob, sure hope you had the opportunity to take the Funicular to the top to see Charles of Austria's tomb, the cathedral, the botanical gardens and the Madeira Gardens gardens....not to mention the views of Funchal from up there are fantastic. Its a beautiful place and so friendly. Thanks

Thank you johneccles......for adding some additional information on the Island of Madeira & Funchal. I wish we had more time when our ship stopped there, but it was just one day to try & see whatever we could. I don't know if you caught my topic on March 9th or not. (A visit to Funchal, Portugal) It explains the reason & timing of this current series I'm posting. Thanks for the nice comment. Much appreciated, Bob

Thank you Blaster34....for checking out my post on Portugal. Since we only had one day to visit (on a ship) I'm afraid we missed most of what you mentioned. But we enjoyed everything we did get to see! My March 9th post (A visit to Funchal, Portugal) will further explain why I'm posting this series & where I have other pictures taken during that visit. Sounds like we need to make another visit to the Island of Madeira & stay longer! We did enjoy the toboggan/basket ride down the hillside. I'll try to attach a photo of that moment. Glad you enjoyed the pictures. Much appreciated, Bob

LOLOL, yes I would love to make another trip to Funchal myself, one of the best ports in the Islands. I see you took the toboggan ride down the mountain, we passed, glad you enjoyed....have a safe trip....
