After bringing my beloved D70 out of retirement I need to get it cleaned. Does anyone know a good place to send cameras for removing dust on the sensor (or whatever the dust is on).
Thanks in advance!
Sheila
Put it in the dishwasher with the mirror up. Clean as a whistle.

If you shoot at a wider aperture, you won't see just how dirty your sensor really is.
Actually, I use my Expodisc or a blank piece of paper right over the front of the lens.
No need to go outside (what do you do if it's nighttime?), just point it at any light source, and it works better if you overexpose by a stop or two.
Shutter setting doesn't matter, the dust isn't going to move during the exposure.
No need to load onto your computer either.
Just hit the review button, zoom in and move the image around on the LCD.
Be careful using the Eyelead gel stick.
I've read there are counterfeits out there and it's possible to delaminate the OLPF filter from the sensor.
It happened to a friend's camera.
I use
sensor swabs now.
haha, don't think I will try that one... my dishwasher gets really hot!

Shoot a few shots. If you don't see the dust in the test shots, don't worry about it. I've seen dust in my view finder but never in my prints. It may be on the mirror or elsewhere and not bother anything but you. Good luck !

Unfortunately, it does show on prints and pics on the internet.

I just read an article about dust online. It's everywhere, and there's no way to get rid of all of it.
I keep a microfiber cloth with my tablet 'cause I have to clean the screen every day!
Sorry to hear that. It's time to find a Nikon repair place. The internet should have a listing. Make sure you get an estimate before you send it in.
