Unfortunately all of my lenses have to be IS or VC due to old age tremors. From the test shots I took @ The Rocky Mountain Wildlife Refuge, this Tamron 24-70 fits me perfectly! I love this lens.

I've heard good things about it, but check the link on my previous post.

Well said sir! Jimmie Bob has a problem with anyone sharing their joy of a new purchase, or heaven forbid the arrival of 'the big brown truck'. It has been his forte since arriving on the forum, and most of us just laugh at him for his silly juvenile and trite comments to happy users with their new purchases. He rarely has anything substantive to add to the conversation. By the way, would anyone like to hear about my brand new Tamron 24-70 G2 VC?

Haha! So true, Jake! And heck yes! That new Tamron 24-70 G2 VC sounds intriguing, tell us about it, got any pics taken with it? I, for one, love hearing about others purchases because a lot of times it is something I didn’t even know existed.

Here's an article comparing a few less expensive strobes. I alluded to this article in an earlier post. It just took awhile to find it.

Thanks Peggy. I'm now looking quite seriously at the Tamron 85mm 1.8 DI VC. The difference in price compared to the Canon offering is substantial, and the Canon isn't Image Stabilized and I have been lusting for a prime. Ah, acquiring new gear is fun!

You’re welcome! I should have looked at the Tamron 85mm before purchasing the Nikon version, it does not have stabilization either, seems Tamron has figured out that some of us need stabilized lenses! Happy shopping!

And will soon be the proud owner of the Nikon 85mm 1.8 G lens and a Yongnuo YN685 speedlight for my D7200. Was looking at the Nikon SB 700, but the Yongnuo was 1/3 of the price of the Nikon. Hoping I made good choices! Can’t wait to see that Adorama box!!

Nikon 85mm lenses have been a favorite of mine for a long time, from the old H series on a film Nikon F to my 85 AFD for digital now. You’ll like it a lot!

Can’t wait to get it, but got an email today from UPS saying that they changed the estimated arrival time from Tuesday the 13th to unknown because of inclement weather! Hope I get it before Adoramas 30 day return policy is up, although I really don’t foresee having to return it!

Looking forward to see some images with that new lens. Fast primes are somewhat more appealing than zooms in the same range.
