Value of a Mamiya 645 Pro TL

I was recently given a Mamiya 645 Pro TL with an 80mm N f/1.9 Mamiya Sekor lens in apparently mint condition
Does anyone out there have a rough idea of what a setup like this might have sold for when new, and what it might sell for nowadays as a used camera in perfect condition? I'm not thinking of parting with it, but I'd like to know this for insurance purposes. Thanks.

A quick scan of Ebay showed similar rigs selling for between $600 and $800.

Yeah. I got that. But there is still a cadre of die-hard film people who eschew digital technology. As a matter of fact, Adorama in NYC buys and sells used film cameras for that rarified market. Apparently, there is still a demand. But I was wondering what the original selling price was of this stuff. I can't find that info out anywhere. Thanks.
BTW, Remember the old Timex-Sinclair 1000 "door stop" computer with 3.2K onboard memory? Or the Commodore 64? or the Atari 800? There are people who love programming in the old Dartmouth Basic which hasn't been installed on computers in decades, and yet, these folks can't get enough of playing with that old technology.

It was not hard to spend $4500 for the camera, the AE finder, inserts and a couple of LS lenses.

The f1.9 lens is somewhat more valuable than the standard 80mm f2.8. Prices should reflect that as the f1.9 is much harder to find. Good long term reliability.

This Wikipedia page with a list of Mamiya cameras shows that yours was among the last of the manual focus models manufactured and finding a compatble digital back and adapter would ne problematic and would probably cost more than the camera and lens' worth. I own a Mamiya Pro 645 TL and paid about 5 grand for it, three lenses, several backs and some accessories. I would guestimate that it would be worth about 500 bucks today, if that. Always loved the chromes it produced and have no intention of selling. Best of luck.

I bought a Mamiya 645 AFd in 2002, body only for $3500. This is not the exact camera you are referring to, but I think it is a close approximation to give you a rough idea of original cost. I now have have five lenses for it, 35 mm to 105-210 mm and it is a pure joy to use.
I hope this is at least somewhat helpful.

A lot of this exakt kit is sold used for $5-600 on Ebay. Some are priced at $8-900. Your camera will fit somwhere in this range.
