Having loved Elephants and Big Cats since being a small girl, this safari was one of the great joys of my life. Seeing these beautiful animals in their natural habitat was a heart pounding experience around every curve. We rode in an open jeep, and often only had a few feet between us and the animals. At one point a young elephant came around a bush, stopped dead in her tracks, flattened her ears to her head in concern, then swayed from foot to foot...deciding if we were friend or foe. Being brave, she inched right up to the glassless window and ME....giving me heart palpatations and a major thrill to touch her. I hope you enjoy these shots....

Looks like this was a fantastic adventure for you. Great memories!
Lovely photos, it is on my bucket list.
what an enjoyable series! I,too, love the elephants. they are so smart. Your images are well taken-I can only imagine the joy of being so close to them. I love how you got the giraffes in the same shot as the elephants.
Nice shots, thanks for the post.
Ohhh, be still my heart...
I do wonder, though, why that momma is so thin. Surely not a good sign (**tears**)...
Having just been there myself, your lovely photos take me right back! Great shots!
That must have been fantastic for you. Excellent images...your did a wonderful job.
These are fine shots, Linda. Hard to pick a favorite, but I kinda like your No.10 pachyderm "packing-it-in" for the day. Good job.
Amazing photos! I too love elephants.
