Op/Tech straps are very comfortable as well as inexpensive. Low profile. Available from their website, Amazon and many major retailers. Recommended.

I put Canon straps on my Nikons as theft deterrents.

If you want the stealth approach, try a Pentax strap. No one knows what it is.

I think the last time I used the supplied strap (Nikon) was years ago when I bought a D40 which was very light. I have several Op Tech straps which as many on here mentioned are comfortable and inexpensive. I also use a Black Rapid sling from time to time.

Op/Tech provides a system of straps. I can interchange a wide shoulder pad for a narrow one depending on the day's mission. I can also replace the primary strap with a wrist strap if the mood suits me.

I have to agree with you and Ralph. OpTech also allows quick switch from neck strap to sling. The former being more user friendly on bus or train tours, the latter better for walk around comfort.

I use either a Sunsniper with a RRS clamp to attach to the base plate or a Magpul with a quick detach swivel that attachs to a RRS “L“ bracket.

A few years ago, I purchased a camera strap from Mod Straps. It is a leather strap done in the fashion of a sheepskin coat – soft leather on the outside and wool against my neck. No more chafing on the neck and the strap is as secure as you could ask. I carry my Canon 5d II with a 28 – 300 lens and have no concerns of the strap breaking. It also has quick disconnects so when a strap is getting in the way, it is simple to remove and reinstall it without having to undo normal camera strap clips.

I have a Peak Design camera strap that keeps your camera at your side. I absolutely love it. It's simple and does the job. It's worth the money.

I use a Fastfire sling strap for my Nikon D750. The quality is excellent and it works well for me. It’s made by a small U.S. company. Their customer service is excellent as well.

Have a new Canon T7I which of course came with a Canon strap. Do most just use the one that came with the camera....or buy one of their own. If so....which is a good/wide/comfortable to wear? (some are proud of their camera and love to have that name displayed)

I bought a wide strap back with my first camera in the 1970's. Now I find the factory one acceptable because I don't go around with the camera around my neck, except on vacation. I work out of a bag and usually just wrap the factory strap around my wrist.

I always seem to be the oddball here.

For a relatively lightweight point-and-shoot (Lumix DMC-LX100) I use the Polish-made Sailor Strap (Lieutenant model is the proper length).

Anything more is like zapping flies with an elephant gun.
