You people are so pathetic. There is no reason for a AR15 other than to kill human beings. This is very sad!, the worst part is that you can justify owning this monster to yourself.

I swore to myself I would stay out of the attic but find myself drawn in again by this subject...so I guess I failed.
Having spent 20 years in the military and was on the Navy shooting team, I love long distance target shooting...and I love the AR platform and own several...why? because shooting targets is a hobby for me. I also use bolt action rifles and do shoot handguns. Here is the thing...noone needs an AR...and to those who claim it to be an ego thing or an attempt to make up for other shortcomings...I disagree. My rifles are in my safe. They come out when we target shoot, get cleaned and back in the safe. I reload my own ammunition for accuracy and fun. Again, do I need the AR platform to shoot, absolutly not...but I like it...it is sort of the swiss army knife of rifles. My children were taught respect growing up and that included respect for weapons and what they can do, what they are for and what they are not for. Would it kill me if they were banned...nope, do I care if they are...nope...I have others guns to shoot targets. But ...and I know many here disagree and I respect that, not calling anyone names here...the problem I see here is that we have a problem with how our children are raised. There are many areas I could point to but I will stick to 1. How is it that we allow our children to play very graphic video games where shooting and killing are encouraged to win? How do we allow them to listen to music glorifying gang culture, abuse of women and violence...and then tell them not to emulate that? I don't have the perfect answer but we need to fix this issue and have to start someplace...I believe we would be much better served addressing the reasons why people do these things, why are children get to that point...one place that seems to be getting addressed is bullying..great start...but again it starts with upbringing..just an opinion...
I swore to myself I would stay out of the attic bu... (show quote)

Told you it was going to be tough when you posted your good bye. Better luck in the future.

Perhaps if you listened (honestly) to those who’ve responded you might learn something positive about gun owners.

Your lack of understanding does not mean that you are right.

Furthermore.....monsters are fictional creatures. Much like your argument that inanimate objects are evil and dangerous.

I do not have any problems with gun owners, some of my best friends..... My issue is with owning an AR15. I don’t understand why anyone needs one!

Exactly my point. IF you listened, then you would understand. Is there a good reason you trust your friends with a pistol (loaded with hollow points) and not with an AR-15?

BTW, have you ever seen “Full Metal Jacket”? An AR-15 is a weapon, not a gun.

I was against the AR 15 till about an hour ago when I watched that video from facebook and the guy explained that the only difference between an AR 15 and a hunting rifle is the looks, even the clips are exchangeable and both are semi auto. One looks like a regular hunting rifle and the other looks like an assault rifle.

So...one would need one for hunting?

Just to show you liberals hypocrite that both are the same, only one is an "Assault Rifle " But you knew that and you want to put your grain of "knowledge" in it .

Like I said, the finger is the devil, not the rifle.

NO, you can use a slingshot it's less dangerous for the masses

Any semi auto is not necessary for hunting unless you are a real bad shot, and if that's the case you shouldn't be out hunting in the first place.

Don’t be so hard on the innocent little finger. Technically, it’s the brains behind the finger and the person in which both reside that is the devil incarnate.
