Yes. You may use any Canon lens that starts with EF or EF-S on a 70D.
You may not use a Canon lens that starts with EF-M or FD. You will probably damage your camera trying to use either type of lens.

Absolutely.
Every EF and EFs lens ever made will fit and function perfectly with your 70D camera. There will be no loss of any function at all with any Canon EF and EFs lens including the very first ones made for film cameras. So there will be no worry about Canon EF and EFs lenses working and fitting on your 70D. That is what is so wonderful about the EOS system, they got it right the first time.

It's a great little lens. I have used it on several bodies, both crop and FF. For the money very sharp.

Good, I just bought one from B&H. It's supposed to arrive Tuesday. According to the internet it's a nifty-fifty, a must-have for all serious photographers. I'm trying to be serious, (most of the time) BoB
