Need some help.
Does anyone have experience with this camera ? I am a Nikon guy and regularly use my D500 with a back up of my D7100. There are times when traveling that I want a pocket camera that is better than a IPhone. Reading the features this seems to be an able camera which has wi-fi . The cost seems to be about $400. Would you recommend this or a similar model. I appreciate all your help.

Not too long ago, my husband needed to purchase a P&S to replace the one that had finally died. I reached out to fellow UHH members for advice. We narrowed it sown to 2 possibilities: the Nikon A900 & the Panasonic Lumix ZS60 (since replaced by the ZS70). Hubby chose the Nikon, but I would have chosen the ZS60. It was purely personal preference. The Nikon felt better in his hand, the Panasonic felt better in mine. FWIW, he is strictly a P&S shooter. Both of us are happy with his choice - so much so that I also purchased the ZS60 as my P&S. The 2 DSLR’s I shoot with are the D500 and the D7200 - close to your cameras.
My suggestion is to take a close look at the specks on both the A900 & the ZS60 or the ZS70. A quick way is to just google “Nikon A900 vs Panasonic ZS60”. Both are good cameras.

I highly recommend it but it is hardly a pocket camera. One disadvantage is it does not shoot RAW

I believe you have confused the P900 with the A900. The A900 is a P&S, while the P900 is a bridge camera. Bridge cameras are not pocket size, whereas MOST P&S cameras will fitin MOST pockets. The model numbering systems used by many camera companies are jusr plain confusing!

I have a Nikon S9900 that I've had for over a year and it works very well. I keep it with my laptop so anytime I'm at work I have the camera. I don't recall how much it cost, but, it was quite reasonable and I don't know if they manufacture it anymore. It's a good solid little camera.

After a medical issue I decided to sell my D7100 and multiple Nikkor lenses, replaced it with the Nikon B700. Weighed the b700 vs A900 = B700 is lighter, smaller, still has a 60x zoom and 4k video plus RAW. Nikon Refurbished at Adorama for $305 (B&H $339.00). Yes it has a smaller sensor than I prefer, but images a decent enough for me, the images and videos I've taken so far please ME. After 45 years of being a working professional photographer and compare the image quality of he B700 for $300 and the $10,000 pro system I used "back in the day" I can print a good looking 24x36 today and my old equipment or 20 years ago could barely print a good 16x20 print. And lets be real most images taken today never make to printed media. Which is why a Hasselblad 500 CM makes a good paperweight.

Just as an afterthought - I really enjoyed Medium and Large Format Photography and going to the PMA Conventions in Vegas was great. But I don't recommend investing in Kodak, Agfa or Polaroid.

My $.02. I just purchased a refurbished Coolpix A900 from Adorama for $215 (reg. $400) and I couldn't be happier. I own a D610, a D5500 and a myriad of lenses as well as a Canon SX50 and a Sony A6000. This A900 is my "have with me most of the time and in the car etc., etc. camera". It's replaced my Lumix ZS7 which had a recurring spotting (on the sensor ) problem. The A900 is a pleasure to use. Do your homework and then you decide. Over the years I've had a number of point and shoots and this is by far my favorite. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I will use my D500 with the 200-500MM lens when I can but in other times , like a quick weekend plane trip I’m going to get the point and shoot
